On May 4, 2026, Rotary Global Grant No. 2570099 for the Rotary Birthing Center for Indigenous Peoples (Mangyan Communities) in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro was formally completed and turned over. Led by the Rotary Club of Muntinlupa Filinvest with the Rotary Club of Pinamalayan Central, the facility now provides safe, accessible maternal and neonatal healthcare for Mangyan communities and neighboring underserved areas.

Rotary Birthing Center for Indigenous Peoples

Under Global Grant No. 2570099, the Rotary Club of Muntinlupa Filinvest built and turned over a dedicated birthing facility in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro to improve maternal and neonatal care for Mangyan Indigenous Peoples and other underserved communities in geographically isolated areas.

At a Glance

The project was designed to expand access to safe maternal and neonatal healthcare, reduce maternal and infant health risks, and deliver a clean, equipped birthing facility for Mangyan communities. Construction, equipment, and operational readiness were completed through Rotary, local government, healthcare, and community partnerships.

Long-term operations are supported by the Local Government Unit of Bongabong, Renato Umali Reyes Hospital, assigned healthcare staff, Mangyan community leaders, and continued Rotary monitoring.
